Being a documentary wedding photographer doesn’t mean I won’t interact with anyone or not take ANY group / family / couple’s pictures.

It means I won’t interrupt moments for the sake of a photograph, that the images I make come from organic moments that are not fabricated or manufactured by me. There is no need to perform or act differently simply because a camera is present.

I believe that the day is about love, community, and connection - not about a photoshoot. So I aim to give you an experience where you can live into your wedding day fully present.

I photograph with a sense of curiosity, empathy, and anticipation, knowing that these photographs are what will bring the moments back years later when your memories are a bit fuzzy.

Of course! Family portraits are still important historical documentations, likely one of the rare times everyone is together and dressed to their best, and probably the photographs you’ll first turn to when sending someone a print. I’ll photograph the list of family photos you give me quickly and efficiently so that they are easy and painless for everyone.

I work in an unobtrusive way, letting things unfold organically. When it’s time to get a few classic portraits of you and some family photos, I will help guide you to the best light, give easy, natural suggestions, and keep it short and sweet so that you’ll look and feel comfortable. No fake laughs or forced serious faces needed, and no need to spend hours away from your guests.

Because I’m always searching for that decisive moment, I shoot digital for weddings so I don’t miss a beat.

Alongside making sure I avoid those half-blinks or half expressions by being able to take multiple images of the same scene, my workflow currently works best with modern gear that is flexible in all types of lighting conditions and that have the ability to write data in two separate cards for redundancy. I’m able to back up the images further on hard drives once I get home as well, and I am not at the mercy of the postal system to handle your images.

Your wedding gallery is typically delivered 4-6 weeks after the wedding. For a full day wedding you can expect about 500-700 final images.

Images are delivered as high-resolution JPG files available to download through your online gallery.

You have full personal usage rights, so print and share to your heart’s content. You can also order prints and products directly through your online gallery.

I photograph nearly all weddings as a single shooter as a personal preference, and my clients appreciate the smaller media footprint this leaves at their event and allows me to blend in well to get those candids.

There are times when adding a second photographer is beneficial to your coverage, such as:

1. You’re getting ready in two different locations and want getting ready coverage of each person.

2. You’ve invested heavily into the details and design of your wedding and need more time to capture those elements.

3. Your guest count is 185 or more, and/or you have a large wedding party.

Yep! I have loads of back up equipment, and equipment and liability insurance as all professional photographers should have. If your venue needs me to send a COI, just let me know ahead of time.

This is a very serious situation that I do not take lightly. I would never want to leave my couple without a photographer on one of the most important days of their lives. While I have a network of trusted photographers I could turn to to cover for me if serious sickness / medical emergency should happen to me, my work and reputation is very important to me. Only death or complete physical injury preventing me from leaving a hospital bed would prevent me from showing up to your wedding. I take major precautions to make sure I am in tip top shape to photograph your wedding. I can proudly say that in my 11 years of photographing weddings, I have never missed a wedding. And if I needed extra physical help, I would make arrangements without impacting your experience.

If you cancel the wedding, you will forfeit the retainer that held your date. If you are postponing due to circumstances beyond your control (such as 2020), you can transfer your existing retainer to a new date, as long as I am available for the new date.

In order to reserve your date, I need a signed contract and a 50% retainer. Everything is done easily online through a booking portal.

For wedding locations or multi-day events that require me to stay the night or two, a separate travel fee will be quoted to accommodate necessary hotel / flight.
